Press Announcements Triad Eye Associates opens new office near thriving North High Point neighborhoods (HIGH POINT, N.C., June 6, 2005) — Triad Eye Associates has opened a third office at 6425 Old Plank Road, Suite 105, to serve the eye care needs of families in the growing north High Point area. Triad Eye Associates offers comprehensive eye exams, designer eyewear and contact lenses. The new office features the latest in diagnostic equipment for glaucoma detection, auto refraction, visual field screening, color vision assessments and depth perception testing. "At Triad Eye Associates, we're so pleased to be part of a vibrant, thriving neighborhood that is home to so many young families," said C. Rick Gilliam, O.D., a managing partner of the practice. "We are committed to providing quality eye care and eyewear for our neighbors in this community." Triad Eye Associates is an anchor in the new 18,600-square-foot Old Plank Business Center. The center, which includes 12 suites for professional and business offices, is located near the PSA Soccer Complex and several large residential developments in north High Point. The business center is near the heart of growth in High Point and convenient to major highways, including U.S. 311, and the planned Interstates 73 and 74, said developer Mike Carr of Carr Properties. "This area is flourishing," said Carr, who is also planning a retail and restaurant development along Old Plank Road. However, rapid growth has left many new residents of north High Point under-served when it comes to eye care. So, Triad Eye Associates is stepping in to fill that need with expertise in pediatric and geriatric eye care and everything in between. "We're a neighborhood optometric office," said Gilliam, who along with Dr. Cathy A. Fulp, will see patients at the new office. "We welcome patients from anywhere in the Triad," Gilliam said, "but we hope to draw heavily from those communities located within five miles of our office." The new location of Triad Eye Associates has an on-site lab, which offers faster service on many eyeglasses orders. The optical department offers the latest innovations in lenses and frames and is managed by licensed optician Toby Pope, who has practiced in High Point for more than 16 years. Triad Eye Associates carries a large selection of eyeglass frames at various prices, including brand name styles from Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Kate Spade, Giorgio Armani, Nike and Air Lock. Triad Eye Associates is celebrating its grand opening with an open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 11. Prospective patients will have the opportunity to tour the new office and meet the doctors and other staff. There will also be snack food, fun and games for children, including a space walk rock wall. Visitors may also register to win sunglasses from Maui Jim and Nike, a complete pair of prescription glasses or boxes of Fresh Look Colors contact lenses from Ciba Vision. C. Rick Gilliam, O.D.; James M. Kernodle, Jr., O.D.; and Cathy A. Fulp, O.D., are the staff optometrists at Triad Eye Associates. Triad Eye Associates has three office locations at 6425 Old Plank Road, Suite 105, in High Point (336-886-7500); 311-D Trindale Road in Archdale (336-434-4033); and 328-A North Fayetteville St. in Asheboro (336-625-2020).
